Health Blog!

Welcome students to our class blog. We will be using this space for class discussions to examine, evaluate, and share knowledge. Discussions provide opportunities for students to think critically on the topics we will be learning about in Health class. Concepts, assignments, and readings will be used as the basis for our discussions to create a positive learning community in which students are willing to share their ideas and to accept constructive criticism from their peers.

Homework

1. Explain why homeostasis is important to your body's functioning.
Organs need to be kept in a set of conditions for them to work. Homeostasis keeps the internal conditions of the body are constant. The ability to keep homeostasis is required for survival and helps the organism work properly.

2. Give an example of an organ that exchanges chemicals, and explain how its structure allows this.
The lungs. The respiratory system makes the lungs break down a substance and release another, such as plants do photosynthesis.
3. Give three examples of ways your skin helps maintain homeostasis in your body.
sweat is produced by the sweat glands as a response to hot climate to control the inner temperature.
skin works as a barrier against dirt, bacteria, and harmful virusses that may harm the body.
the skin helps cushion and avoid physical injuries.

4. Explain one way that your body maintains a constant temperature while outside on a cold day.
When shivering, the skeletal muscles contract, providing heat to the body and helping it mantain its temperature.
